For the same pressure class, a higher PE grade needs a thinner wall — at OD 110 and PN 10, PE 63 needs 12.3 mm, PE 80 needs 10.0 mm and PE 100 needs 8.1 mm. That is roughly a third less material for the same duty, which changes both the price and the handling weight.
