Mini Sprinkler Systems

Mini sprinklers and micro sprayers to IS 14605 and ISO 8026 — even coverage at pressures a modest pump can hold, for the crops where drip is too targeted and flood is too wasteful.

01

Overview

Low pressure

Runs on modest pump heads — typically 1 to 3 kg/cm².

IS 14605

The correct standard for micro and mini sprinklers, aligned to ISO 8026.

Same network

Shares HDPE mains with drip zones.

Even coverage, low pressure.

Not every crop wants water at a point. Nurseries, leafy vegetables, germinating beds and close-spaced horticulture all do better with an even wetted area, and mini sprinklers deliver that at pressures a modest pump can hold.

A standards note worth getting right: the micro and mini sprinkler standard is IS 14605, aligned to ISO 8026. IS 12232 is the standard for rotating impact sprinklers used in overhead sprinkler irrigation — a different product. Suppliers citing IS 12232 for a mini sprinkler have the wrong standard on their datasheet.

Many fields want both, zoned off the same HDPE main. That is the normal design, not a compromise.

FAQ

Questions

Frequently asked.

Which standard applies to mini sprinklers?
IS 14605, aligned to ISO 8026. IS 12232 is the rotating impact sprinkler standard and applies to a different product — if a datasheet cites IS 12232 for a micro or mini sprinkler, it has the wrong standard.
What pressure do mini sprinklers need?
Typically 1 to 3 kg/cm² at the sprinkler. That is within reach of a modest pump, which is much of the appeal against overhead sprinkler systems.
Can I run drip and sprinkler off the same system?
Yes, zoned separately off the same HDPE main. Different crops on one holding often need both, and that is a normal design rather than a compromise.
