Logistics and network

Shipping to Guinea.

Consignments for Guinea move Sea from Nhava Sheva to Conakry, then road. Typical transit is 28 to 40 days; discharge at Conakry. We quote Ex Factory or FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva, with payment by LC at sight or advance, USD or EUR.

The grid runs at 50 Hz with 400/230 V low-voltage supply and Medium-voltage distribution to IEC practice (20 kV and 30 kV classes); 110 kV and 225 kV transmission. Distribution is operated by Electricite de Guinee (EDG), regulated by Ministry of Energy; AREE regulator. Import conformity: EDG technical specifications; IEC designs; French-language documentation.

The product

A solar transformer is not a distribution transformer with a different label.

Full specification and gallery

An inverter feeds the transformer a non-sinusoidal current with significant harmonic content, and it does so on a duty cycle that is de-energised for roughly half the year. Both facts change the design.

Harmonic currents drive eddy-current heating in the windings that a standard design does not allow for, so conductors are transposed and the core flux density is de-rated to leave headroom. The overnight de-energised period means no-load loss dominates lifetime energy cost far more than it does on a distribution feeder — which is why the low-no-load-loss design is worth paying for here and not always elsewhere.

Specifying

What changes for Guinea.

  • Climate and site: Very humid coast at Conakry with heavy rainfall; interior plateau.
  • Built to IEC 60076 for 50 Hz, with insulation levels for the Medium-voltage distribution to IEC practice (20 kV and 30 kV classes) and 400/230 V secondaries; temperature-rise limits and cooling sized for the stated ambient and altitude.
  • Fittings, bushings and tap-changer ranges follow the utility specification (Electricite de Guinee (EDG)); type-test certificates from CPRI or ERDA accompany the offer.
  • Documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, test certificates and the import conformity certificate where Guinea requires one.
FAQ

Questions

Frequently asked.

How long does delivery of Solar & Inverter Duty Transformers to Guinea take?
Manufacturing time depends on the rating and quantity and is confirmed with the quotation; shipping is 28 to 40 days via Conakry. Inspection before dispatch can be arranged for your representative or a third-party agency.
What documents and certificates come with a consignment to Guinea?
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, routine test certificates per unit or drum, and the import conformity paperwork: EDG technical specifications; IEC designs; French-language documentation.
Which standard and voltage class do you build to for Guinea?
IEC 60076 and related IEC standards for 50 Hz, with Medium-voltage distribution to IEC practice (20 kV and 30 kV classes), or the Electricite de Guinee (EDG) specification where one is issued. Indian Standard designs with IEC equivalents are also accepted on many schemes.
