Logistics and network
Shipping to Ghana.
Consignments for Ghana move Sea from Nhava Sheva or Mundra to Tema, then road. Typical transit is 25 to 35 days; discharge at Tema; Takoradi for the west. We quote Ex Factory or FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva, with payment by LC at sight or advance, USD.
The grid runs at 50 Hz with 415/240 V low-voltage supply and 11 kV and 33 kV distribution (34.5 kV in NEDCo northern areas); 161 kV and 330 kV transmission. Distribution is operated by Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the south, NEDCo in the north, GRIDCo for transmission, regulated by Energy Commission and PURC. Import conformity: Ghana Standards Authority EasyPASS conformity assessment, mandatory for electrical equipment (HS 85) shipped from 1 July 2026; GSA inspection at Tema before customs release.
The power transformer line closed the last gap in the chain. Between distribution and power class we now cover 16 kVA right through to 20 MVA — a span very few regional manufacturers hold on a single site.
The standard substation build is 33/11 kV, Dyn11, ONAN, with an off-circuit tap changer at +5% to −10%. Where the network needs voltage regulation under load we fit an on-load tap changer at +5% to −15%, and where the load profile justifies forced cooling we supply ONAF with a rated output at each cooling stage.

What changes for Ghana.
- Climate and site: Hot humid coast at Accra and Tema; drier north at Tamale, 40 °C.
- Built to IEC 60076 for 50 Hz, with insulation levels for the 11 kV and 33 kV distribution (34.5 kV in NEDCo northern areas) and 415/240 V secondaries; temperature-rise limits and cooling sized for the stated ambient and altitude.
- Fittings, bushings and tap-changer ranges follow the utility specification (Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the south, NEDCo in the north, GRIDCo for transmission); type-test certificates from CPRI or ERDA accompany the offer.
- Documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, test certificates and the import conformity certificate where Ghana requires one.
