Logistics and network
Supplying Maharashtra.
Deliveries across Maharashtra start at about 1080 km by road, which puts the nearer cities (Jalgaon, Amravati, Dhule) within 5 days of dispatch. The state's demand centres on Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, JNPT (Nhava Sheva) port, Pune auto and engineering, Nashik and Aurangabad engineering, Nagpur MIHAN, Solapur and Dhule solar, Kolhapur foundries.
Distribution in Maharashtra is handled by MSEDCL, with Adani Electricity, Tata Power and BEST in Mumbai; MSETCL runs the transmission network. Programmes now in execution include RDSS, MSEDCL agricultural feeder solarisation (MSKVY 2.0), and each is tendered against a technical specification that we quote and manufacture to.
The product
A solar transformer is not a distribution transformer with a different label.
An inverter feeds the transformer a non-sinusoidal current with significant harmonic content, and it does so on a duty cycle that is de-energised for roughly half the year. Both facts change the design.
Harmonic currents drive eddy-current heating in the windings that a standard design does not allow for, so conductors are transposed and the core flux density is de-rated to leave headroom. The overnight de-energised period means no-load loss dominates lifetime energy cost far more than it does on a distribution feeder — which is why the low-no-load-loss design is worth paying for here and not always elsewhere.

Specifying
What changes for Maharashtra.
- Design ambient 50 °C; seismic classification Zone IV (Koyna belt) for structures and foundations.
- Coastal and industrial exposure: C5-M grade exterior paint, stainless or hot-dip galvanized hardware and heavier zinc coating on steel parts for sites near the coast.
- Temperature rise 45 K winding and 40 K top oil over the stated ambient, or 55 K / 50 K where MSEDCL specifications allow; losses, impedance and tapping to the utility schedule or IS 1180 level.
