Logistics and network

Shipping to Tanzania.

Consignments for Tanzania move Sea from Mundra or Nhava Sheva to Dar es Salaam, then road inland. Typical transit is 12 to 16 days; discharge at Dar es Salaam. We quote Ex Factory or FOB Mundra / Nhava Sheva; CIF Dar es Salaam on request, with payment by LC at sight or advance, USD.

The grid runs at 50 Hz with 400/230 V low-voltage supply and 11 kV and 33 kV distribution; 132 kV, 220 kV and 400 kV transmission. Distribution is operated by Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO), regulated by Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA). Import conformity: TBS Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC): consignment-based Certificate of Conformity valid three months, issued by Intertek, SGS or TUV Rheinland under the 2025-2028 contract.

Full specification and gallery

A servo stabilizer holds the output voltage steady by continuously varying a motorised variac, rather than switching between fixed taps. That gives smooth correction with no waveform distortion and no switching transient — which matters when the load is a CNC machine, a medical imaging system or a process line rather than a lighting circuit.

Three-phase units are built as single-variac (all phases corrected together) or three-variac (each phase independently). Specify three-variac where the incoming supply is unbalanced, as most Indian industrial feeders are.

What changes for Tanzania.

  • Climate and site: Humid coast at Dar es Salaam; dry plateau inland at 1,000 to 1,500 m (Dodoma, Arusha, Mbeya).
  • Built to IEC 60076 for 50 Hz, with insulation levels for the 11 kV and 33 kV distribution and 400/230 V secondaries; temperature-rise limits and cooling sized for the stated ambient and altitude.
  • Fittings, bushings and tap-changer ranges follow the utility specification (Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO)); type-test certificates from CPRI or ERDA accompany the offer.
  • Documentation: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, test certificates and the import conformity certificate where Tanzania requires one.
FAQ

Questions

Frequently asked.

How long does delivery of Servo Voltage Stabilizers to Tanzania take?

What documents and certificates come with a consignment to Tanzania?
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, routine test certificates per unit or drum, and the import conformity paperwork: TBS Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC): consignment-based Certificate of Conformity valid three months, issued by Intertek, SGS or TUV Rheinland under the 2025-2028 contract.
Which standard and voltage class do you build to for Tanzania?
IEC 60076 and related IEC standards for 50 Hz, with 11 kV and 33 kV distribution, or the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) specification where one is issued. Indian Standard designs with IEC equivalents are also accepted on many schemes.
